
Dr Rodrigo Martins (MD, PhD, FRACP) is a consultant neurologist at Mater Hospital Brisbane and consults privately at Brisbane Neurology. He is also appointed as senior lecturer at University of Queensland.
Dr Martins completed medical training in Brazil in 2007 followed by specialist neurology training in 2013 before moving to Australia in 2014 to pursue a PhD at UNSW/NeuRA. His thesis project focussed on opioids and obstructive sleep apnoea, attracting several awards and prizes. He later gained extensive clinical experience after 2 stroke fellowships (at Box Hill Hospital in Victoria and at Gosford Hospital in New South Wales) before receiving his FRACP in 2019.
Dr Martins’ clinical interests are headaches and migraines management (including advanced therapies – Botox, CGRP antagonists and nerve blocks), post-stroke care for the young adult and the elderly, sleep disorders in neurological conditions, and general neurology.
