Dr Basil Mantzioris

Dr Basil (Bill) Mantzioris is an experienced neuropsychiatrist who completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training in Adelaide. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He is a former National Chair of Consult Liaison Psychiatry and a member of the National Committee for Neuropsychiatry for the RANZCP.

As a neuropsychiatrist, Dr Mantzioris is an expert in treating people with neurological disorders that have a psychiatric or cognitive component such as Parkinson Disease, Epilepsy and Dementias. Dr Mantzioris is experienced in the treatment of Functional Neurological Disorders, having been part of the first dedicated FND Clinic in Australia. Dr Mantzioris has links to the Neurology Departments at the Mater and publicly at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he has a neuropsychiatry clinic.

Dr Mantzioris has an extensive research background. He was awarded a PhD in Immunology at Flinders University. He has current interests in neuroimmunology and the genomics of schizophrenia, and is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute.
